What is this site? How does it work?
Pez Swap is a site where traders can come together to find the items they are looking for.
In the same way that eBay and other auction sites bring buyers and sellers together, Pez Swap
hopes to bring together the two parties to a trade.
It works like this: After you register, you create a list of dispensers that you want and a list
of dispensers that you have duplicates of (or that you are willing to trade away). You may then
search the database to find other users with complementary lists (i.e. people who want what you
have and vice versa).
How much does it cost?
Pez Swap does not cost you anything. The only requirement is that you have a valid email address
for the registration process.
How do I create a list of dispensers that I have for trade?
Just visit your For Trade page and start creating your list.
How do I create a list of dispensers that I want?
Visit your Wanted page to create your list.
I'm not ready to create a list yet, how can I just search the items already registered?
The search page will allow you to search for items which match your "Wanted" list,
items which match your "For Trade" list, or just do a simple search of the entire database. You do
not have to register any items in the database to use the simple search.
My search keeps coming up empty!
People may register dispensers under slightly different names. If you're looking for
"Scrooge McDuck", try search for just "Scrooge" or just "Duck". The search is not
case sensitive.
Ok, I've found an item I'm interested in, what now?
Simply click on the "Contact" button next to the item to proceed. For privacy reasons, you will
not be able to see the email address of the person who owns this dispenser. They will receive an
email from Pez Swap stating that you are interested in a trade for the item you have selected. If they
are interested or wish to discuss the details, they can respond to the email at which point both parties
will have the other person's email address, and you will be free to discuss your deal. Once you have
contacted each other, Pez Swap is out of the loop. Please be sure to update your listing if you
complete a successful trade.
What are these email notification preferences about?
You can choose to have the system automatically notify you when an item is registered that
is similar to an item on one of your lists. This can save you the trouble of having to
manually search the database all the time. Keep in mind, however, that since people will
naturally name dispensers slightly differently, there may be cases where an item you
are interested in does not match closely enough to trigger an email. We recommend
searching the database via the search page or browsing
the user lists occasionally to
avoid missing any great deals. You may change your email notification preferences
at any time by visiting the preferences page.
